Homestories I was originally based on the exhibition Revisiting Home - the Notion of Dwelling at the Intersection between Individual and Society (NGBK, Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst, Berlin, 2006). It was this exhibition that inspired Inga Zimprich (artist and curator) and Yulia Vaganova (director of CCA Kyiv) to invite Ania Corcilius, Inken Reinert and Janine Sack from the "Revisiting Home" curatorial team to develop an extended exhibition and exchange project in order to explore the conditions of dwelling both in Germany and Ukraine. After a long period of research and scheduling, a group of German and Ukrain artists, architects and journalist took part in an eight-day workshop and subsequent two-day public presentation consisting of a series of talks and an exhibition at the Center for Contemporaray Art in Kyiv (CCA, Kyiv, May 2008).
